All Storylines and Characters on this site are for the express purpose of Fantasy Role-playing and in no way are intended to reflect current organizations or affiliations. The information on this site is kept with much of a fictional base. Owners are not liable for crossing, coincidences, and discussions taken off site concerning the characters and players here. Joomla Account

Joomla is the template that allows us to be a more interactive game site. Once you create an account you will only be allowed to view the home page for each system. You must email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it to approve your joomla account to a player instead of observer which allows you to view system pages, forums, gallery and chat. On Joomla will be a ping or page system. Use common sense when paging admins or other players. If you page inappropriately or maliciously you will be warned once, then banned from the Electricring.com web ring. All posts to the website news areas will be welcome, although they have to be approved by a News Approved Admin. You will find the guidelines and abilities for posting in Joomla news, character stories, forum news areas or other player posting areas in the forums for each site. All posts will be looked upon as chat regulations and anyone that abuses this privilege or floods with inappropriate content will be judged by the same ban guidelines for Electricring.com. That means one warning then you are Banned.

Character Rules

 Characters approved for play on any part of Electricring.com are to be used expressly for this site. Scenes and storylines taken off site will not count towards experience gathered here. Coinciding playing of one character on Electricring.com with any other 'By Night'-style site will result in the character being denied and pulled from play.

If you are participating in the site swap program you need to follow a few basaic guidelines.

1- The temporary swap needs to be approved by both system admins on the site you are with and the nighboring site.

2- You must post your leaving in the home site and arrival in the new site AFTER a copy of your current character sheet has been sent to the correct admin.

3- You must designate a date or a storyline end when your character returns - IF they dont die - then post leaving the neighbor site and returning to the new site.

4- All gained xp must be approved by your HOME ADMIN only!!

5- Character death on any site is character death on all sites. You cannot recreate with the same picture or system on another site.

6- All character gifts must be approved by your home site. if you gain a contact or influence your home site influence admin must approve it and edit your sheet. All other system bonuses will need to be approved by your HOME ADMIN for your system.

 
 Abominations, ghouled mage, infernalists, transformed vampire-'Mortale Spiritus', and any other cross-system creations will not be allowed on site unless express written approval is given by an Owner for Storyline purposes. Although they can happen in play, the possible power of such characters needs to be monitored. 

In case of character defragment, I.E. character sitting in an admins box without contact by that admin, we will follow strict guidelines. The admin has 7 days from first submission to contact that player. If they don’t, player has the right to email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for a better answer. If the owner cannot get the admin to respond or correlate with the player, then that sheet will be approved by the owner after 30 days. 
 

Chat Rules

 Electricring.com , although a site and game with high adult themes, is not a site to use for cybering or sexual relations out of character. Personal role-plays of this nature, and relationships between players are asked to be kept off site, and players engaging in such actions, in a chat room will be reprimanded, then banned from all the role-playing sites on Electricring.com 

 To create a chat account, use the register button in the chat section of the website. Once your account is created, it will be temporarily playable for 45 days. If you have not created a character or played in that time, the account will expire, and be deleted. Once you have a playable character, your system guide, or the owner can make your account permanent. Unfortunately the chat is the only account that you have to make separate from your Joomla site account. 

 Please remember that anything said or played in the chat program, is readable to the owner and administrators. The chat program creates a log that is often viewed. A good rule of thumb is if you do not want others reading it, do not post it in chat.
 
Forum Rules

 The same rules apply to forums as they do for chat. Sexually explicit posts deemed unfitting to the character or dangerous behavior posted in OOC forums will result in the post being pulled and the player either temporary or permanently banned from that site. Since this is a site sharing web ring, once you are banned for behavior from one site, consider yourself banned from all of them. Use common sense, I know everyone has it in them somewhere. If you have questions about a post IC or OOC please feel free to email the site owner first for approval. Email is read on a daily, or bi-daily basis. 

 The forums are there for site information and in character ideas or stories. Those posts that are used for personal arguments, lewd, pornographic, sexually debasing, or racist commentary will be deleted immediately, and the post creator reprimanded or banned. Please use common sense when posting in the forums.

Banning

On Electricring.com, arguing extensively with the owner or staff will NOT be tolerated. If you have a difference of opinion however, then voice the difference if needed in pm, or privately with the person in the disagreement; be polite about it, and don't get into an arguing match. The same rules apply to staff on site, when dealing with players. If you have a problem with staff or another player, feel free to bring the problem to the owner. These role-playing settings are for enjoyment, and no one can do that while fighting within.

First Warning - you are required to read these rules and then post an acknowledgement in the forums that you understand. This is your first warning, once you post you are under advisement of the rules and considered to be personally responsible for you sticking to them yourself.

Second Warning - A second warning is given to make sure that the parties arguing, or disrespecting the rules know and understand they are in the wrong. If the second warning is ignored or the action is repeated, then step three WILL be taken.

BAN - If all previous attempts to correct the problem have been taken and ignored, or repeated, then this is the last step taken. I do not take joy in the last step, but cannot afford for this site to be ruined with those who cannot get past their ignorance for others. The first BAN will be for 2 months. If at that time the action continues, then I will keep the ban permanent. Be it a staff member or player, I will not make a distinction when it comes to the rules.

Some reasons for Banning on Electricring.com

Continuing to play characters never submitted or not approved, without permission.
Forcing someone into rp situations they refuse or are uncomfortable playing out.
Fraudulent statistic playing. (I played a 5 in dexterity when I really only have a 3 on my sheet)
Use of OOC information in Character
Harassment or repugnant behavior towards other players or staff.
Damage or flooding of offered programs or services on Electricring.com

Moderators and Rules

Selection - Be cautious of your selection of a Moderator. Please choose one that has working knowledge of the systems influding setting changes, and who is impartial to all parties involved. All guides and the owner are encouraged to post a list of choice moderators who are knowledgeable in their systems either on their pages or in their forum.

Decision - Once you decide on a moderator, he or she owns the scene and runs it to its conclusion. All decisions are final and non-reclusive. The only way to gain a second opinion on a scene that has been played and the moderator chosen is to discuss it with the owner. Please be careful and impartial when choosing your moderator. Because that is it, you choose.

Rules - Rules for Electricring.com follow most modern combat rules in revised books: Star wars revised, vampire third, Werewolf third, Werewolf Wild West, Mage revised, wraith second edition and so forth. Adjustments to the rules and combat will be posted when applying, into the individual system or site pages. If you are not familiar with the combat rules, that is fine... that is what the Guide is there to consult with. Not everyone can afford the books, we know this.. its easy to learn.

Restricted and Disallowed things on Electricring.com

Merits and flaws: Note: All merits and flaws should follow third or revised edition books of any game type. Those merits and flaws outside of the core books "i.e... in the clan books only or tribe books" cannot be played without prior approval from the storyteller of that system.

There are lists of what merit and flaws are restricted or banned, in each system creation rules. Please adhere to them.

Weapons and Demolitions:

A general rule of thumb is that if the weapon would take you effort and coercion to get in real life, then it would be equally hard to get that weapon on any of the Electricring.com sites. For specialized weaponry please inform your storyteller, or for questions and plans you can consult the Mundane Guide as well.

Demolitions and heavy motorized vehicles of an armed services branch and the like need to be approved through the Mundane Guide; as they are highly restricted to player's characters depending on their contacts and influences. Mostly Demolitions are banned on site. Few exceptions will be considered for the knowledge of Demolitions, however all use of them and knowledge has to be approved by the owner.  A Letter from the Owner about RULES (also posted in the forums that you must reply to in site forums only): There have been many complaints on site about players and staff, as well as some rules broken. Now this is what confuses me the most, as site rules have been up, and been the same for 6 years now and I have not changed them.

Since I am in desperate need of clearing up these issues without pointing to individuals how stupid or childish they are. This is my solution as site owner. I am going to post my views on a few key facts in here. I am also going to put a link of the site rules at the bottom of this post. If you wish to continue to play on Salt Lake City at Night, then please reply back to this post, after reading both the post and the site rules..with your nickname and your list of characters or one character so I know who is who.

1- There seems to be a misconception on site that just because I have been generally nice up to this point, that I will accept subtle and not so subtle threats about people leaving. I will tell everyone this once before I put my nice face back on.

This site is to have fun and ROLEPLAY. I dont condone people and characters who constantly combat, gun for one persons players, or threaten to leave if so and so is on site. If you dont want to play..and have fun..then leave. If you have a problem with someone else..grow up.. deal with it.. or take it off site. I swear by the goddess that the next person who says..you have to have so and so leave because i will leave if they are here.. will get only one warning then gone. Im not your mother. I am trying to be your adult....friend.

On that same note: If your character goes after someone with ooc info, or say you have 3 characters and all of them go after the one person? back off.. if I see it happen and dont feel it works with your character..thats using ooc info icly and you fall under my site rules. And if I have to ban someone.. I wont bring them back no matter who strips naked and lets me beat them for years. NOBODY. Thats why right now theres only 3 people on my ban list. Keep it that way..

2- Speaking of Adult. Are you aware that this is an adult site? If you play here you agree that you are at least over 18 years of age and realize the difference between ic play and ooc views??? Well it hasn't seemed like some people realize this. Im sorry but as an admin rubbed in my face earlier. This is the world of darkness. Bad things happen all the time in the world of darkness (white wolf trademark ect) so yes..people get hurt..people get killed..characters have eyeballs hang out and goody too shoes oh is that a dagger in the symbol of a body part? Gee thats a nice horse..just dont tell you that the horse ate your moms lower intestine last night. Or that people get raped, maimed, killed, bled dry, reborn, buried alive, bitten, ripped apart, tortured..and all sorts of swearing in character.. yea dont get me started on types of characters that just go on and on and on..

Characters played here are just that..characters..story people that walk around and generally amuse the hell out of all of us. No, nobody calling the cops here because theres one point some of you are missing...IT IS MAKE BELIEVE. There is no reason for similarity, hints , knowledge ect because your in a setting, in a group that doesnt exist (okay well some believe but the police dont care in the real world..trust me.)

3- Speaking of leaving. This topic I am only going to touch once. Because, I have been generally nice to everyone, and in return i have gotten so much crap that I have not played in almost two weeks other then a scene i had to mod, and one preplanned scene. The rest has all been disrupted.

I am site owner. I am sorry that you see this as a problem. I try to let my admins run their own systems to the best of my abililtiy. If I have a problem, I work it out. I DO NOT discuss how I take my actions to ANYONE. There is no..public flogging, humiliation, telling everyone what im doing to so and so.. I try my hardest. And as much as I have worked my assets off trying to make this a friendly place to play.. I dont feel the need to explain myself to all of you. No offense but at times there are a lot of you and thats not fair to me. I can try to please all of you, but i cant let everyone run over me.

With that in mind, telling me that so and so shouldnt be admin..or threatening to leave if they are.. telling me that your not happy till you know what punishment someone got for something..Is not going to fly. Either you trust me to handle things or you dont. theres no above me. I try not to float myself.. but I have to draw the line. And if you try to tell me how to do my job..by threats, or by saying your leaving if such and such isnt happening? I will ask you to leave. I cant run a site based off threats or childish grudges. Its Salt Lake City..not your old site withyour old problems. Sorry.

when it comes to telling me what i should do as site owner, and holding personal grudges..its one warning..then gone. I cant deal with things that you as adults should know better of by now. I have enough to deal with having a 6yr old that likes to eat bubbles and trying to remember what character I havent played for a while.

PS SYSTEM COMPLAINTS GO TO ONE OR MORE OF THE ADMINS FOR THAT SYSTEM. I am a last resort unless its about that admin, or you tried that already.
